As we approach the Christmas season, our hearts are set on Jesus and his example to us in Philippians 2. In humility, Jesus, who was God himself, came down to earth to love and serve. Being made in human likeness, Jesus showed us what it means to be loved by the Father, to carry his heart, and to love and have compassion for others. This Christmas, let our freedom in Jesus lead us in the ways of Jesus – not to be served, but to serve. Let us love one another well and extend our arms towards our city.
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Follow his invitation in serving our city, whether through participating in the initiatives we have as a church or in other ways that he leads.

For those who are looking for a Christmas Eve service to attend in our city, we are happy to share that our friends at Westside Church will be gathering at 4pm on December 24th.
