This month, we explored the theme of humility through the life of Jesus and how His actions set an example for us to follow.
First, we learned about the humble birth of Jesus. Born in a manger, Jesus’ story began in the simplest of places. The kids discovered that greatness isn’t about status or appearances but about the heart. Together, they created manger ornaments to remind us of this special story.
Next, we looked at how Jesus showed servant leadership by washing His disciples’ feet. This act of love and service reminded us that true leaders put others first. The kids enjoyed making bowl-and-towel ornaments to represent Jesus’ humility in serving others.
Then, we learned that Jesus welcomed children, showing us that everyone has value, no matter their age or status. The kids created handprint ornaments, celebrating the love and worth Jesus sees in each of us.
Finally, we reflected on Jesus’ ultimate act of humility: His sacrifice on the cross. The kids made cross ornaments from twigs and craft sticks to symbolize His selflessness and love for all of us.
Over the past month, our kids have given a total of $12.50 in offerings for Altars! It’s been a gift to see the kids understanding of giving through faithfulness come alive.
We’re in need of a few hands to help organize our storage closest in the kids space on Monday, January 27th at 10:00am. If you’re available to help, contact David at 778-222-8486.
